Calculation Types
Neptune offers a range of calculations types and the extensibility to build new calculation types if required.
- Fixed Rates: The simplest of the suite, a fixed rate is a static rate that is multiplied against a market value.
- Fixed Amounts: These are fixed charges and may be specified on a monthly, quarterly, half yearly or annual basis and apportioned according to either the number of days in the period or the number of months in the period based on a calendar year.
- Sliding Scales: This rate is segregated into tiers of a certain value. Once the market value has exceeded the size of the tier the remaining market value is assigned the rate of the next highest tier until the market value has been exhausted.
- Bracket Scales: This rate assigned a fee to the entire market value based on where the value fits in a sliding scale.
- Sliding Bracket Combination Scales: This is a hybrid of a sliding scale rate and a bracket scale rate where a sliding scale is applied up to a certain amount. Once this amount is exceeded a bracket scale is applied to the entire market value.
